Igor Spiroski, MD, PhD
It is always a challenge to be in a competitive and highly influential research environment. RICHFIELDS comprises excellent scientists but also people who apply science in order to provide the best possible information to the consumers. I have worked with some of these scientists on different projects and initiatives in the past so I was flattered with the invitation to be a part of the Project Advisory Board. Dietary risk factors dominantly contribute in the NCDs burden and are responsible for the most Disability Adjusted Life Years (DALYs). Most of the risks may be avoided when having proper information about food. So the process that brings together the information about food and public health makes RICHFIELDS one of the projects that are and will be in my focus for the period to come.
